Save the Pollinators

Hi I am Madison. I am the Historian and am also a part of the Design Committee. I enjoy beach clean ups and enjoy environmental science. I hope I can make an impact on the planet and help out Ojai as best as I can.

The Green Valley Project is a community that all share the same goal, which is to help the environment. This year we are currently focusing on saving the pollinators in our beautiful town of Ojai. All my life environmental science has interested me and I always had a passion for helping the environment, but I did not know where to start to help. As a freshman I joined the environmental and all girls science club where we do weekly beach clean ups and go to middle schools and do stem workshops. The Environmental Club is where I received information about The Green Valley Youth Project and I finally found what I was looking for, a community who wanted to better the environment. I immediately applied and after getting admitted into the council I found what I was searching for. I am looking forward to all we accomplish and cannot wait to see how young people like me can educate and help Ojai.

I asked a fellow Youth Council member to tell me her experience of helping save the pollinators in Ojai. Here is what she had to say : “I  joined because I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn about the environment because I plan to do environmental science next year.

I like working with others and coming up with ideas. I also like being a part of the Design Committee and getting an opportunity to apply skills I’ve learned in advertisement.”
