Green Valley Project Communications Internship

This position, for young adults (18+), aims to enhance environmental communication skills through hands-on experiences in creating impactful media, including social media content, blog posts, and storytelling. This is a paid, part time hybrid internship. You will spend up to 3 hours a week in the field and 3 hours working from home for a total of 6 hours a week.

Interns will be paid $16.90 / hr.

What to expect from the Communications Internship?

In addition to supporting our Youth Council groups as a program assistant taking photos, supporting community service projects in either Ojai, Oxnard, Ventura or Thousand Oaks. Our interns create content on our instagram, tiktok, and blog. They also work on specific intern group projects including:

  • creating educational signage for our community pollinator gardens at the Humane Society of Ventura County, Topa Topa Elementary School, and Mama Tree Farm

  • writing and painting a children’s book with artist and author Bobette Stanbridge

  • co-writing a song with Sage Against the Machine and filming a music video with Ray Powers about the volunteer work happening in Ojai Valley through the Green Valley Project

  • filming a mini documentary about environmental restoration happening in Ventura County
